Deb Zellers, a 1992 DePauw graduate, returned to her alma mater in 1994 to take over the helm of the volleyball program.

Zellers has compiled a 639-353 record over 31 seasons, making her the program's winningest coach in both total victories and winning percentage. In 2024, she guided DePauw to a 17-12 overall mark and a 5-2 record in NCAC play, earning the third seed in the conference tournament. One year earlier, she and assistant coach Sydney Stover were named the NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Tigers to the conference title. Zellers also directed the 2019 squad to the program's first NCAC Tournament championship. Under her leadership, DePauw has advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in four consecutive years and six of the last seven overall. Her 1998 and 2000 teams also reached the postseason, with the 2000 squad winning a program-record 32 matches.

DePauw has finished second in NCAC regular season six out of eight years and was second in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season. Zellers led DePauw to the 1994 Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title.

Zellers also coached softball for seven seasons with a 129-102-3 record and a .558 winning percentage.

As a DePauw Student, Zellers majored in psychology and was a four-year volleyball starter and a two-year starter in basketball as well as a captain in each sport. She earned all-conference honors in volleyball in 1989 and 1991 and was an all-district selection in 1990. Named the volleyball team's most valuable player in 1991 and the mental attitude award winner in 1990 and 1991. The Tigers earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship during her senior year (1991). In basketball, she twice won the mental attitude award and once was the most improved award winner. She also earned all-Hoosier Conference for Women honors in basketball as a senior.
