I had a chance to coach at Marietta and learn a lot, and the timing worked out well. I couldn't ask for a better situation. Coach Ingles started a great tradition, and I'm honored to be able to carry it on."
During his Battling Bishop playing career, Mott earned first-team All-America honors after batting .408 and compiling a 12-1 record in 2003. He was a 4-time all-region selection and earned All-NCAC honors at pitcher, first base, third base and designated hitter. He continued his education while at Marietta, earning a master of arts in liberal learning in 2006.
