Wittenberg Captures Back-to-Back NCAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Titles

GAMBIER, OH -- The Wittenberg women won their second-consecutive NCAC title, and third overall crown at the 2024 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Kenyon's Toan Indoor Track in Gambier, Ohio. The Tigers topped the team standings at the two-day meet with 191.5 points, clearing the next closest team by 29.5 points. DePauw checked in with 162 points for second, followed by Ohio Wesleyan in third (81.5), Wooster in fourth (79), Denison in sixth (69), Kenyon in seventh (59), Oberlin in eighth (56) and Hiram in ninth (4).
 
2024 NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award Winners:
 
Women's Field: Paula Soric, Kenyon
Kenyon junior Paula Soric (Zadar, Croatia/Gimnazija Franje Petrica Zadar) earned the award as the top field athlete over the course of the championship meet after claiming the NCAC title in the triple jump (11.21 meters) and long jump (5.29 meters).
 
Women's Sprint/Hurdles: Meghan Frazier, Wittenberg
Wittenberg junior Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH/Alliance) earned the award after winning three events at the 2024 championships. She claimed the 60-meter dash title in a time of 7.74 seconds, crossed the line first in the 200-meter dash (25.72), and was on the winning 4x400 meter relay team. Frazier and her teammates, sophomores Abby Danne (Johnstown, OH/Big Walnut) and Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH/Springfield) and junior Victoria Pipinch (Fort Worth, TX/All Saints Episcopal) finished the 4x400 in 4:01.26.
 
Women's Distance/Middle Distance: Lily Monnett, DePauw
DePauw junior Lily Monnett (Cloverdale, IN/Cloverdale) collected the award as the league's top distance runner over the course of the meet as she posted a pair of victories. The junior won the mile, breaking the tape in 5:15.44 and crossed first in the distance medley relay, along with teammates junior Emma Jacobs (Marietta, GA/Blessed Trinity), first-year Aubrey Asdell (Scottsburg, IN/Scottsburg), and sophomore Ava Knight (Leesburg, IN/Warsaw) (12:29.30). Monnett also earned All-NCAC honors in the 3,000 meter run, finishing in 10:26.65.
 
Newcomer of the Year: Zoe Ward, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan first-year Zoe Ward (Columbus, OH/Worthington Christian) had a memorable showing in her inaugural appearance as she was runner-up in the 5,000 meter run, finishing in 17:59.62. Ward also finished fourth in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 10:30.50.
 
Women's Coaching Staff of the Year: Wittenberg
The Wittenberg Tigers earned NCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the second consecutive season. Paris Hilliard and his staff, Alexia Page-Boyd, Josh Lynch, Blaine Brokschmidt, and Christ Marco guided the Tigers to back-to-back titles and their third overall after earning 15 All-NCAC performances including six NCAC event titles.
