North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week – Week of April 16, 2024
Baseball Player of the Week – AJ Reid, Wabash
Wabash senior
AJ Reid (Highland, IN/Highland) helped guide the Little Giants to a 4-1 week after splitting games with DePauw (0-8, 8-1) and recording wins over Hiram (12-7, 17-3) and Blackburn (5-4). In the nightcap against Hiram, Reid became the first player in the 158-year history of the Wabash baseball program to hit for the cycle, recording four hits and an .800 average at the plate. On the week, the senior hit 11-for-21, including a double, two triples, three home runs and 14 RBI. Reid also drew three walks for a .560 OBP and did not commit an error in 15 total chances at third base.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Pearse Riendeau, DePauw
DePauw sophomore
Pearse Riendeau (Richmond, VA/Collegiate) led the Tigers to a 13-3 game-two win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday. In the victory, Riendeau struck out nine batters in six innings pitched, limiting the Battling Bishops to just three hits. While on the mound, the sophomore held opposing hitters to a .143 batting average.
Men's Golf Athlete of the Week – J.F. Aber, Wittenberg
Wittenberg senior
J.F. Aber (Pittsburgh, PA/Sewickley Academy) collected medalist honors at the Hershey Cup by two strokes in the 87-competitor field. Aber carded a two-over-par 144 (73, 71) after entering the second round two shots off the lead in a four-way tie for third place. In the second round, the senior recorded an eagle and had just two bogeys which elevated his day-two score to tie him for the best round of the tournament. Wittenberg won the team championship by three strokes in the 16-team field.
Women's Golf Athlete of the Week – Isabella Dolan, Denison
Denison sophomore
Isabella Dolan (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Preparatory School) won the Muskingum Zanesville Invitational as an individual after finishing at plus-six overall (146). Dolan carded a 71 (+1) in round one and then finished with a 75 (+5) in round two to win the tournament by five strokes.
Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week – Lane Kellogg, Wooster
Wooster sophomore attacker
Lane Kellogg (Arvada, CO/Ralston Valley) led the Fighting Scots to a 17-11 win over Oberlin on Saturday. Kellogg led all players with eight points after netting five goals and dishing out three assists. In the win, Kellogg reached 41 goals on the year, which ties him for ninth in program history.
Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week – Joe Sikora, Kenyon
Senior long-stick defender
Joe Sikora (Boulder, CO/Fairview) and the Owls went 1-1 in conference play last week with a win over Oberlin (14-8) and a loss to Ohio Wesleyan (14-9). Against the Yeomen on Tuesday, Sikora caused a career-high four turnovers while scooping up a career-high five ground balls. On Saturday, the senior caused one turnover and picked up one ground ball in the loss to the Battling Bishops.
Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week – Kate Lengel, Kenyon

Kate Lengel (Glenwood, MD/Our Lady of Good Counsel) had a career day in the Owls' lone game this week against Wittenberg. In the 23-3 win, she scored a career-high six goals and dished a career-high three assists, totaling a career-high nine points. She currently leads the team in goals and points.
Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week – Mary Daniel, Denison
Denison junior defender
Mary Daniel (Wellesley, MA/Wellesley) recorded 10 draw controls, four ground balls, and one caused turnover during a 2-0 week for the Big Red. In a 19-10 victory over Wooster, Daniel finished with seven draw controls, one caused turnover, and one ground ball. The junior also tallied three ground balls and three draw controls in a 23-4 win over Oberlin.
Softball Player of the Week – Katie Mathies, DePauw
DePauw junior
Katie Mathies (Shelbyville, IN/Shelbyville) helped guide the Tigers to a 4-0 week with wins over Kenyon (8-0, 9-0) and Ohio Wesleyan (13-9, 12-0). Over the four games, Mathies hit .667 (6-for-9) with four doubles and two home runs to go along with a .677 OBP, 1.778 SLG, seven runs, eight RBI, two walks, and one stolen base.
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Tori Conner, Wooster
Wooster first-year
Tori Conner (Ridley Park, PA/Archmere Academy) led the Scots to wins over John Carroll (2-0), Denison (6-0), and Oberlin (3-2). During Conner’s 3-0 week, she recorded a 0.64 ERA, allowed just two earned runs and struck out nine. Over 22 innings, Conner recorded 21 scoreless innings and limited her opponents to 17 hits.
Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Ethan Green, Denison
Denison sophomore
Ethan Green (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline) and the Big Red went 3-0 on the week with wins over No. 30 Kenyon (7-2), No. 8 WashU (7-2), and Oberlin (9-0). At the No. 1 flight in both singles and doubles, Green combined for a 4-1 record while also recording a win at No. 2 singles for a 5-1 overall record. Against the Owls, Green and junior
Colin Gramley (Sharon, PA/Shady Side Academy) won 8-7 (7-5) in a tiebreaker to give Denison a 2-1 lead. Green’s only loss on the week (7-5, 6-3) came from Kenyon sophomore
Paulo Pocasangre Kreling (Guacimo, Coasta Rica/Interamerican High School CATI), who is currently ranked No. 10 in the region. In the win over the Bears on Friday, Green teamed up with junior
Kael Shah (Nairobi, Kenyon/ES American School Barcelona (Spain)) to earn an 8-6 doubles win and then pulled out a three-set victory (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) over second-ranked
Jared Phillips. Against the Yeomen, Green and Shah won 8-0, while Green was also a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 2 singles.
Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week – Lilly Hartman, Wittenberg

Lilly Hartman (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) went 2-0 to help the Tigers collect a 6-3 win at DePauw on Sunday. Hartman paired with classmate
Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, PA) for an 8-7, 7-3 win at No. 3 doubles and then clinched the match for Wittenberg with a 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5-0) win at No. 6 singles.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Sprints/Hurdles – Jaylin Epps, Denison
Denison junior
Jaylin Epps (Cordele, GA/Crisp County) ran personal bests in the 100-meter dash (10.70) and the 200-meter dash (21.97) to earn All-Ohio titles in both events. At the All-Ohio Championships, Epps also ran the first leg of the Big Red’s third place 4x100 meter relay (42.90). In NCAC standings, Epps is currently tied for first in the 100-meter dash and is also ranked fourth in the 200-meter dash.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Mid/Distance – Kambi Obioha, Oberlin
Oberlin junior
Kambi Obioha (Wauconda, IL/Northridge Preparatory) posted a career best time of 1:53.99 to win the 800-meter run at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. With that time, Obioha moves into second in the conference and fifth in the region in the event. The junior also ran on the 4x400 relay unit that placed second out of eight teams with a time of 3:20.91.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Field – Andrew D'Asaro, Denison

Andrew D’Asaro (Downington, PA/The Hill School) won the javelin with a throw of 64.07 meters at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Challenge. D’Asaro’s first attempt of the competition broke his own school record of 61.59 meters which he set at the 2023 NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship. His new mark is currently ranked first in the NCAC and third in Division III standings.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Sprints/Hurdles – Meghan Frazier, Wittenberg
Wittenberg junior
Meghan Frazier (Alliance, OH/Alliance) and the Tigers competed at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic this past weekend. At the meet, Frazier finished second in the 200-meters (25.36 seconds) and third in the 100-meters (12.25 seconds). Frazier now ranks first in the conference in both events.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Mid/Distance – Annalise Grammel, DePauw
DePauw senior
Annalise Grammel (Canal Winchester, OH/The Columbus Academy) ran a personal-best time of 2:16.30 to place first in the 800-meter run at the Indiana DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. Grammel now ranks second in conference standings with that time.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field: Field – Ainsley Wiesner, Wooster
Wooster senior
Ainsley Wiesner (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) won an individual title and earned All-Ohio accolades in two events this past weekend. Wiesner recorded a toss of 51.37 meters in the hammer to win the event, bettering her own school record by 2.64 meters and ranking first among conference competitors. Wiesner added a second All-Ohio honor by placing second in the shot put with a mark of 11.50 meters. Additionally, the senior placed seventh in the javelin with a toss of 30.44 meters.
NCAC Milestones & Records (April 8 – 14)
Denison, Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – At the All-Ohio Championships, first-year
Lexi Verdell (Cleveland, OH/Berea-Midpark) earned her first-career All-Ohio honor after finishing third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:20.14, while sophomore
Sydney Flores (Durango, CO/Durango) won the shot put with a personal-record throw of 12.04 meters, which ranks first in the NCAC so far this season.
DePauw, Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – First-year
Shelby Stall (Lindenhurst, IL/Lakes) earned MVP honors at the Indiana DIII Invitational after placing first in both the 200-meter dash (25.49) and 4x400 relay (4:07.14) and second in both the 100-meter dash (12.69) and 4x100 relay (49.63).
Kenyon, Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – At the All-Ohio Championships, senior
Riley Orth (Cincinnati, OH/Anderson) earned first in the shot put for the second time in three seasons. Orth’s best toss measured 15.81 meters, which reset his own program record of 15.51 meters from March 30th.
Kenyon, Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – First-year
Olivia Ide (Chicago, IL/Lane Technical) notched her first-career All-Ohio Championship title in the 5,000-meter run with a winning time of 18:28.18.
Oberlin, Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Junior
Cole Fuller (Chicago, IL/Latin School of Chicago) ran a career-best time of 54.38 in the 400-meter hurdles to place second at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. Fuller ranks first in the conference by nearly two seconds with that time.
Oberlin, Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Senior
Hayden Hill (View Park, CA/Marlborough School) posted a career-best time of 26.83 seconds in the 200-meter dash to place ninth at the All-Ohio Championships

Ohio Wesleyan, Women’s Golf – The Battling Bishops’ won the Liberty 4-Way tournament last weekend, marking the program’s first tournament victory since winning the BSN Sports Dataw Island Invitational on March 9-10, 2020.
Wabash, Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Senior
Takeshi Greiner (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) posted a pair of career-best times to earn top-three finishes at Saturday’s Indiana DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Greiner won the 400-meter hurdles in 56.31, the second-fastest time in the NCAC this season. He added a third-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.42.
Wittenberg, Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – At the All-Ohio Championships, junior
Justin Norris (Middletown OH/Middletown Christian) earned sixth place in the javelin with a career-best toss of 46.20 meters.
Wittenberg, Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – At the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic, sophomore
Emma Hawk (Marion, OH/River Valley) ran a personal-best time of 17:54.86 in the 5,000-meter run to place second and classmate
Tiffany Hix (Prospect, OH/Elgin) won the pole vault with a mark of 3.60 meters to break her own school record of 3.47 meters and rank first in the conference and 25th nationally.
Wooster, Women’s Golf – The Fighting Scots reset the program’s lowest 36-hole tournament score after posting a score of 632 at the Marietta Pioneer Classic.
Wooster, Men's Lacrosse – Senior
Vinny DiLeo (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) passed out his 100th career assist in Saturday's 17-11 win over Oberlin. DiLeo is the third player in program history with 100 career assists.
Wooster, Women's Tennis – Senior
Otilia Oita (North Olmsted, OH/North Olmsted) and junior
Janaki Jagannathan (Malvern, PA/Whitmore School (WV)) tied the program record for most wins at No. 1 doubles as a team with their 21st in Saturday's match at Allegheny.
Wooster, Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Senior
Dylan Garretson (Newcomerstown, OH/Newcomerstown) became a five-time All-Ohio champion in the pole vault after winning last weekend with a height of 4.98 meters.
