CLEVELAND, OH – Denison has been tabbed as the favorite for the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse season, based on votes submitted by the league coaches.
The Big Red, in search of their league-leading 23rd NCAC title, claimed six of the possible nine first-place votes to top the league poll with 78 points. Aiming for its 22nd conference title, Ohio Wesleyan finished second in the voting with two first-place votes and 71 points, while Kenyon earned the final first-place vote to come in third with 66 points. Wooster (51) and Oberlin (45) were separated by six points for the fourth and fifth spots, while Wittenberg (34), DePauw (29), Wabash (22), and Hiram (9) rounded out the nine-team field.
Denison finished the 2024 regular season with an 8-0 mark in league play to earn the program’s fifth consecutive NCAC championship title. After a hard-fought 15-11 victory over Kenyon in the conference tournament final, and the team’s 29th appearance in the NCAA tournament, the Big Red closed out the season with a 14-6 overall record. Five 2024 All-NCAC selections are set to return to the field for Denison this season, led by senior attackman
Tommy Quinson (Rye Brook, NY/Brunswick School). Quinson, who earned third-team all-conference honors in 2023, elevated to first-team status in 2024 after scoring 57 goals and adding 16 assists for an impressive 3.84 points per game. He is joined by three 2024 All-NCAC second-team honorees, including senior faceoff specialist
Colin MacLean (Andover, MA/Andover) and juniors
Andrew Albert (Weston, CT/The Hill School) and
Charlie Pellegrino (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon). MacLean won 128 of 184 faceoffs last season, boasting a .696 faceoff percentage, and collected 67 ground balls. Albert, a goalkeeper, tallied 187 saves with a .539 save percentage, while Pellegrino, a defenseman, contributed 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Junior faceoff specialist
Grant Larson (Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Country Day School) will also return after earning third-team all-conference honors in 2024. Larson won 167 faceoffs, secured 110 ground balls, and posted a .578 faceoff percentage.
The 2025 season begins on Saturday, February 8th, with the first league game scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd. The NCAC Tournament begins with semifinals on Wednesday, April 30th, and the tournament final on Saturday, May 3rd.
