NCAA Announces 2025 Cross Country National Qualifiers

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - On Sunday, Nov. 16, the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships. 

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top seven-person team automatically qualified from each of the 10 regions, while 22 additional teams were selected at-large and 70 individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region not on a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.

Four NCAC runners will race next weekend, including John Carroll sophomore Sam Su (Akron, OH/Woodridge) and senior Abby Schroff (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange), Ohio Wesleyan junior Zoe Ward (Columbus, OH/Worthington Christian) and Wittenberg junior Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH/Mentor).

At the Great Lakes regional, Su was the top-NCAC finisher in the men’s race, as he crossed the line in 23:26.39 for 13th place. In the women’s race, Ward led all NCAC runners, crossing the line in 22:08.26 for third place, just 1.25 seconds behind the runner-up. Schroff placed 10th in a time of 22:28.75 and Clark followed in 12th in 22:30.64.

The 2025 NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships will be held at Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina with Converse University, Limestone University and OneSpartanburg, Inc. serving as the hosts. The races will be November 22, with the men's 8K beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the women's 6K scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
