OWU’s Ward Leads NCAC Quartet at XC Nationals

SPARTANBURG, SC - Four NCAC student-athletes competed at the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, November 22. The championships were held at Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, hosted by Converse University, Limestone University and OneSpartanburg, Inc. 

John Carroll sophomore Sam Su (Akron, OH/Woodridge) was the only NCAC competitor in the men’s race. Su crossed the line in 25:32.3 to place 128th out of 291 racers in the men’s 8K. 

In the women’s 6K, Ohio Wesleyan junior Zoe Ward (Columbus, OH/Worthington Christian) was the highest placing NCAC runner after crossing the line in 22:04.7 for 42nd out of 290 competitors. John Carroll senior Abby Schroff (Lewis Center, OH/Olentangy Orange) was the second conference runner to cross, earning 90th in 22:44.7, while Wittenberg junior Maddi Clark (Mentor, OH/Mentor) finished in 164th in a time of 23:16.5.

Emmanuel Leblond of Johns Hopkins was named the men's cross country individual national champion after crossing the line in a time of 23:35.0, while Audrey Maclean of Middlebury earned the women's individual national champion title finishing in a time of 20:16.8. Wis.-La Crosse won the 2025 Division III Men's Cross Country National Championship title, while NYU brought home the women's championship team title.
