North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week | November 4, 2025
Field Hockey – Maddy Krasnow, Wittenberg
Wittenberg junior midfielder Maddy Krasnow (Bexley, OH/Bexley) scored both goals in the Tigers’ 2-1 overtime win at Kenyon on Saturday to secure an NCAC Tournament bid. The junior broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal just before halftime and then netted the golden goal in overtime to lift the Tigers to their sixth conference victory. Krasnow finished with four shots, all on goal, marking her second and third tallies of the season.
Football (Offense) – Michael Boyle, Wooster
Wooster junior quarterback Michael Boyle (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) tied the program’s single-game record with six touchdown passes in Saturday’s 49-6 win over Kenyon, highlighted by strikes of 55, 68, and 77 yards. The junior completed 17-of-30 passes for a career-high 430 yards before exiting late in the third quarter. His 430 passing yards stand fifth all-time at Wooster.
Football (Defense) – Mike Holsclaw, Wabash
Wabash senior cornerback Mike Holsclaw (Lafayette, IN/Jefferson) came up with a game-saving interception at the goal line with 1:41 remaining to preserve the Little Giants’ 28-21 win over Wittenberg. The pick was his first of the season and sixth of his career. Holsclaw also added an assisted tackle as part of a Wabash defense that held Wittenberg to 84 rushing yards and just 295 total yards of offense.
Men’s Soccer – Harrison Engel, DePauw
DePauw sophomore defender Harrison Engel (St. Louis, MO/MICDS) scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute to lift the Tigers to a 1-0 victory at Oberlin on Saturday. The sophomore's header off a long pass from midfield secured the program’s first NCAC title since joining the conference in 2011. The win also capped an undefeated 5-0-3 conference campaign and marked the program’s first outright league championship since 1997.
Women’s Soccer – Madeline Martin, John Carroll
John Carroll junior goalkeeper Madeline Martin (Huntsburg, OH/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) recorded a shutout in the Blue Streaks’ 2-0 win at Wittenberg on Saturday to clinch the program’s first NCAC title. The junior posted seven saves on 12 shots faced, highlighted by a pivotal stop on a penalty kick to preserve the shutout. On the week, Martin faced 23 shots, recording 10 saves and allowing just one goal in a 1-0 loss to Denison.
Men’s Swimming & Diving – John Wion, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan sophomore John Wion (Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) earned three wins in the Battling Bishops’ 127-81 dual victory over Baldwin Wallace on Saturday. The sophomore captured first in the 200 individual medley (2:01.85) and the 200 backstroke (2:01.96) before helping OWU’s 200-freestyle relay team to a first-place finish in 1:30.95.
Women’s Swimming & Diving – Caroline Stowe, DePauw
DePauw senior Caroline Stowe (Matthews, NC/Butler) posted four pool records and four event victories in the Tigers’ 177.5-173.5 win over the University of the Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday. Individually, the senior won the 100 backstroke (58.51) and 100 freestyle (52.26), while also contributing to first-place finishes in the 200-medley relay (1:45.95) and 400-free relay (3:33.01). Stowe also anchored the 400-free relay with a personal-best split of 51.01 to secure the narrow team victory and keep DePauw undefeated at 3-0 on the season.
Volleyball – Clare O’Malley, Wittenberg
Wittenberg sophomore middle blocker Clare O’Malley (Avon, OH/St. Joseph’s Academy) helped the Tigers close out an undefeated conference season with 3-0 wins over Wooster and DePauw. The sophomore totaled 18 kills on a .586 hitting percentage and added seven total blocks across the two matches. Against Wooster, O’Malley hit .533 with nine kills on 15 attempts with just one error while adding three blocks. She then posted a .643 hitting percentage with nine kills on 14 swings and four blocks versus DePauw.
Milestones & Records (Oct. 27 – Nov. 2)
Denison, Men’s Soccer – With Saturday’s 3-0 win over John Carroll, the Big Red secured their second-most regular-season victories (13) since 1985, trailing only the 2003 squad that finished with 18 wins.
Ohio Wesleyan, Volleyball – Junior defensive specialist Avery Krause (Cleveland, OH/Holy Name) broke the program record with nine service aces in the Battling Bishops’ 3-0 win over Oberlin on Saturday.
Wabash, Football – Junior wide receiver Luke Adams (Sullivan, IN/Sullivan) caught a career-best 10 passes for 82 yards and three touchdowns in the Little Giants’ 28-21 victory over Wittenberg on Saturday. The junior hauled in a nine-yard reception in the third quarter to tie the score at 14-14, added a five-yard touchdown to give Wabash its first lead at 21-14, and sealed the win with a 12-yard score with 5:30 remaining.
Wooster, Men’s Soccer – The Fighting Scots are set to make their first appearance in the NCAC Tournament since 2004.
Wooster, Women’s Swimming & Diving – Senior Emma Humbert (Kensington, MD/Albert Einstein) helped lead the Fighting Scots to a 140-67 win over Division II Malone on Saturday. Humbert won the 200 freestyle in a collegiate-best time of 2:02.15 and capped the meet by contributing to Wooster’s winning 400 free relay, which finished in 3:55.59 to win by nearly seven seconds.
