Denison Men, Kenyon Women Sustain Lead into Final Night 2/14/2025 10:00:00 PM Share: GRANVILLE, OH - The Denison men and Kenyon women continue to lead the team standings following day three of competition at the 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships, held at Denison's Trumbull Aquatics Center. The Big Red men won three events and broke one NCAC record to maintain their lead with 1,287 points over the first three days of action. The Owl women won two events to hold the lead in the team standings with 1,433 points. The Kenyon men collected three more conference titles along with an NCAC record on Friday night and sit second in the team standings with 1,074 total points. Wabash currently sits third with 727 points, followed by Oberlin (681), Wooster (628), DePauw (590.5), Ohio Wesleyan (281), Hiram (264.5) and Wittenberg (241). On the women's side, Denison won five events and earned one NCAC record on the evening and sits in second with 1,341 points, followed by DePauw (818), Wooster (684), Oberlin (559.5), Wittenberg (478.5), Ohio Wesleyan (411), and Hiram (187). Night three opened with Denison pacing the field with a 1-4 finish in the 100 butterfly to take over the lead in the team standings with junior Phoebe Ferguson (Columbus, OH/Grandview Heights) touching the wall first with an NCAA “B” cut time of 55.05 in the 100 butterfly. Earlier in the day, Big Red junior Emily Harris (Castalian Springs, TN/Ensworth) broke the NCAC record in the 400 IM prelims (4:21.04) before resetting the conference record and collecting first place in the “A” finals in an NCAA “B” cut time of 4:19.73. The Kenyon Owls racked up 90 points in the 400 IM to pull within 10 points of Denison in the team standings. The Big Red racked up 141 points in the “A” finals of the 200 free to extend out to a 37-point lead in the team standings with junior Quinn Brown (Portland, OR/Grant) earning gold in the event in an NCAA “B” cut time of 1:49.17. Kenyon senior and two-time NCAC Swimmer of the Year Jennah Fadely (Siler City, NC/Jordan Matthews) logged her fourth-consecutive title in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in an NCAA “B” cut time of 1:00.57. The Owls took over the team lead, scoring 121 points to take a one-point lead after the 100 breast. Denison sophomore Jassy Park (Lakeway, TX/Hyde Park) broke the NCAC record in the prelim session of the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.86 before capturing the conference title in the “A” finals in an NCAA “B” cut time of 55.03, while the Big Red took back the team lead after collecting 122 points in the event. In the final individual event of Friday night, Denison senior Kerstyn Johnson (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) won her third-consecutive one-meter title with a score of 429.20, while the Kenyon women took over the team lead after scoring 159 points in the diving well. In the women’s 200 free relay, the Kenyon quartet of sophomore Kate Bogan (Irmo, SC/Dutch Fork), juniors Gwen Eisenbeis (Okemos, MI/Williamston) and Lisa Torrecillas-Jouault (Le Mans, France/CENS) and senior Sydney Geboy (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet) topped the field with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:32.23. In the first men's event on Friday night, Kenyon sophomore Roman Savage (Claremont, CA/Claremont) outpaced the field in the "A" finals of the 100 butterfly, earning the Owls their sixth-consecutive title in the event with an NCAA “B” cut time of 47.98. For the second-straight season, Owl junior Ethan Manske (Santa Fe, NM/St. Michaels) touched the wall first in the 400 IM with an NCAA “B” cut time of 3:52.32, shaving nearly eight seconds off his prelim time. Denison sophomore Jack Hill (Leighton Buzzard, UK/Cedars Upper) collected the 200 free title with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:36.97, just .06 off the NCAC record. Big Red senior Elijah Venos (Pleasant Ridge, MI/Brother Rice) captured his second-straight 100 breaststroke title in an NCAC record and NCAA "B" cut time of 53.34, while the Denison men extended their team lead to 207 points. Kenyon junior and 2023 NCAC Newcomer of the Year Djordje Dragojlovic (Begrade, Serbia/Nada Dimic) won the 100 back for the second-consecutive season in record setting fashion, finishing in an NCAC record and NCAA "B" cut time of 47.33. The Denison 200-free relay squad of first-year Nick Hensel (Houston, TX/St. Johns), Hill, first-year Harry Parsons (San Rafael, CA/Bay School) and senior Patrick Daly (New Albany, OH/New Albany) logged an NCAA "B" cut and winning time of 1:19.52. The 2025 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships continue through Saturday evening.
