Hiram's Kanno Garners Wilson NFCA Pitcher of the Week Honor

LOUISVILLE, KY - Denison junior catcher Annabelle Calderon (Perris, CA/Orange Vista) collected the latest Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Player of the Week honor of the 2024 season on Tuesday.

Calderson hit .714 over four games during a 4-0 week for the Big Red. She guided Denison to wins over Earlham (1-0, 4-2) and Kenyon (8-2, 9-0) as she went 10-for-14 with 10 RBI, two doubles, one triple, and one two-run home run. During the Big Red's sweep over Kenyon, Calderon was a perfect 7-for-7 with seven RBI between the two games, which included hitting for the cycle in the nightcap. Calderon's home run against the Owls was her 10th of the season, tying the program record originally set by Brie Berkopec in 2010 and matched by Erica Evans in 2011.

The NFCA is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly-regarded coaches polls and All-America awards, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to awards, to in-person events and National Convention. This marks the third week that the NCAC has received selections.
