OWU's Schipfer Repeats on Academic All-America® First Team

Ohio Wesleyan senior guard Kasey Schipfer (Mechanicsburg, OH/Mechanicsburg) was voted to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® women's basketball first team, announced April 16th, 2025.

This season, Schipfer, an exercise science and psychology double-major, was also named a Division III Coaches' All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and received a first-team All-America nod by D3hoops.com. The guard was also named the Region 7 Player of the Year and was a first-team all-region selection by D3hoops.com, won Academic All-District® recognition from the CSC, and was named North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Year for the third year in a row, becoming the only player in NCAC women's basketball history to win the award three consecutive times. She secured the Battling Bishops' ninth Player of the Year honor after leading OWU to its seventh NCAC title. Schipfer was also the only four-time all-conference honoree this season, earning three straight first-team selections after being named to the second team in 2021-22.

Schipfer led the NCAC and ranked 25th in NCAA Division III in scoring (19.6 points/game), led the NCAC and tied for 18th in Division III in points (550), ranked seventh in the NCAC in rebounding (6.3/game), ranked sixth in the NCAC in rebounds (175), ranked fourth in the NCAC and 26th in NCAA Division III in field goal percentage (53.4), shared the NCAC lead and tied for 12th in NCAA Division III in field goals (219), ranked seventh in the NCAC in free throw percentage (76.4), led the NCAC in free throws (107), ranked 15th in the NCAC in assists (56), ranked 16th in the NCAC in assists per game (2.0), ranked fourth in the NCAC in steals (64), and ranked fourth in the NCAC in steals per game (2.3).  

Schipfer helped lead the Battling Bishops to a 25-4 overall record and a perfect 14-0 NCAC mark, completing the first undefeated conference season in program history to claim its seventh NCAC title. After receiving an at-large bid, OWU advanced to the NCAA Division III Third Round for the third time in program history.

The Academic All-America® teams are selected by members of the College Sports Communicators. To be considered for the teams, one must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better and meet high athletic standards.
