Denison Earns NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Title, Enters Tournament as Top Seed

CLEVELAND, OH – The Denison Big Red claimed the 2025 NCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship Title after an unblemished 6-0 mark in conference play.

The Big Red lead the way with 24 NCAC Championship titles, followed by Wooster with six, Kenyon and Oberlin with three, and Ohio Wesleyan and Wittenberg with two each.

As conference champions, Denison has earned the top seed in the 2025 NCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament, which begins with semifinal matchups on Wednesday, April 30. In the semifinal round, the Big Red will entertain fourth-seeded Kenyon (3-3) at 7:00 p.m., while second-seeded Wooster (5-1) will host third-seeded DePauw (3-3) at 6:00 p.m. In regular season play, Denison notched a 20-11 victory over the Owls, while the Fighting Scots claimed a 12-11 overtime win over the Tigers.

The championship game is slated for Saturday May 3 or Sunday, May 4, at a time to be determined at the site of the highest remaining seed to emerge from the semifinals. Should DePauw emerge as the highest seed from the semifinals, the championship would move to Sunday due to a conflict with the 2025 NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 3. The tournament winner receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Denison leads all NCAC teams with 17 tournament titles since the conference began post-season play in the 1994 season. Wooster has earned six tourney titles, while Oberlin has three, and Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan have two titles apiece.
