Two student-athletes from the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) earned spots on the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-America teams announced on Wednesday, May 28. Denison senior
Annabelle Calderon (Perris, CA/Orange Vista) headlined the conference, being tabbed the 2025 Diamond Sports/NFCA Division III Catcher of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Calderon was named a first-team All-American as a catcher and Hiram senior
Darian Kanno (Mililani, HI/Mid-Pacific Institute) received a second-team All-American nod at utility/pitcher.
As two-time reigning NCAC Player of the Year, Calderon posted a .983 fielding average over 179 chances on defense. At the plate, the senior batted .458 with 41 runs, 55 hits, 20 doubles, 11 home runs, 39 RBI and a .549 on-base percentage across 39 games. Calderon leaves Denison as the program’s all-time leader in batting average (.423), home runs (35), doubles (56) and total bases (356).
Kanno, a four-time first-team All-NCAC selection and the 2023 NCAC Pitcher of the Year, led the conference with a .467 batting average, collecting 27 runs, 14 doubles, four triples and five home runs. As a pitcher, she recorded a 13-6 record, racked up 138 strikeouts, and impressively did not allow a single home run. Kanno departs as Hiram’s all-time leader in multiple categories, including batting average (.414), on-base percentage (.465), triples (15) and sacrifice flies (9), as well as ERA (2.17), opponent batting average (.213), saves (8), strikeouts (497), and wins (47).
