Four Heptathlon Events Completed on Day 1 of Indoor T&F Combined Events

WOOSTER, OH -- The 2026 NCAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Combined Events Championships kicked off on Saturday at the College of Wooster with four of the seven heptathlon events being contested.

To start Saturday’s action in the heptathlon, Ohio Wesleyan junior Michael Strange (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) earned the win in the 60-meter dash after crossing the line in 7.12 seconds, while Wittenberg junior Nick Farfoglia (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley) took runner-up honors (7.19) and Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Tanner Sir Louis (Wadsworth, OH/Wadsworth) placed third (7.20). In the second event of the day, Farfoglia recorded the victory in the long jump with a leap of 6.41 meters (21’ 0.50”), while Sir Louis placed second (6.11m; 20’ 0.50”) and Kenyon senior Joshua Greville (Kane, PA/Kane Area) earned third (6.06m; 19’ 10.75”). In the shot put, DePauw sophomore Tucker Risley (Bruceville, IN/South Knox) posted a toss of 14.17 meters (46’ 6.00”) for the win, while Oberlin senior Kit Evans (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) claimed second (11.14m; 36’ 6.75’) and John Carroll sophomore Ben Herczog (Chardon, OH/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) placed third (11.10m; 36’ 5.00”). Risley finished the day with the win in the high jump after posting a height of 1.92 meters (6’ 3.50”), while Farfoglia (1.80m; 5’ 10.75”) and Wabash first-year Tyler Petroski (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) (1.80m; 5’ 10.75”) tied for second.
 
Risley leads all competitors in the heptathlon with 2,732 points. The remaining three heptathlon events and the full pentathlon will take place on Sunday beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Wooster’s Scots Center Indoor Track. The 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28, at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Total team points from the combined events will be factored into next weekend's results toward the final team standings.
