NORTHBOROUGH, MA - Denison senior midfielder Bridget Sheehy (Pawleys Island, SC/Westminster) earned national recognition on Tuesday, March 3, as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named her the Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
Sheehy powered No. 10 Denison's defensive performance in a 15-4 win over Mount Union, finishing with five ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
About the IWLCA
The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Each week during the regular season, the IWLCA recognizes the top offensive and defensive performances in each division through its national player of the week awards. This marks the first time this season that NCAC student-athletes have received national recognition from the organization.
