Denison's Henigan Named IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week

NORTHBOROUGH, MA - Denison junior goalie Julianne Henigan (Maplewood, NJ/Columbia) earned national recognition on Tuesday, March 31, as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named her the Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

In Denison's 16-7 win over No. 19 Christopher Newport, Henigan tallied 12 saves and allowed only five goals in three quarters of play. She held CNU to two goals in the first half, giving the Big Red a 9-2 edge heading into the second half.

About the IWLCA
The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Each week during the regular season, the IWLCA recognizes the top offensive and defensive performances in each division through its national player of the week awards. This marks the first time this season that NCAC student-athletes have received national recognition from the organization.
