John Carroll, Kenyon, Wittenberg’s Schutte Open Play at NCAA Men’s Golf Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL– John Carroll, Kenyon and Wittenberg's Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) opened play on Tuesday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Owls opened round one shooting a 286 (-2) while John Carroll posted a score of 295 (+7). Schutte was unable to finish the first round after the completion of round one was suspended due to weather.

The national championship is being held on two courses, the par-72 6,748-yard El Campeón course and the par-71 6,792-yard Las Colinas course, both at Mission Resort & Club. Both NCAC teams opened play at El Campeón, while Schutte competed at Las Colinas.

Kenyon's Adrian Jordan (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrenceville School) leads the entire field after firing a 5-under 67 in the opening round. Rafael Frias IV (Parkland, FL/American Heritage School) carded an even-par 72, while Jaiden Koonar (Alberta, Canada/Webber Academy) shot a 73 (+1), Connor Gray (Winnetka, IL/New Trier) posted a 74 (+2) and Jonathan Oakes (Dobbs Ferry, NY/US Performance Academy) recorded a 76 (+4).

John Carroll was led by Justy VonLehmden (Findlay, OH/Saint John’s Jesuit), who carded an even-par 72. Daniel Donahue (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Catholic) shot a 73 (+1), while Wade Boyle (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Central Catholic) posted a 74 (+2), Austin Malley (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) recorded a 76 (+4) and London Hoyser (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) shot a 79 (+7).

Schutte, competing as an individual qualifier, sits at 3-over through eight holes after first-round play was suspended due to weather.

Tee times for the completion of the first round and the start of round two are yet to be announced.

The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team's total score.
