- Ohio Wesleyan came out firing, building a commanding 5-0 lead behind efficient offense and strong faceoff play. Senior Garrett Smith (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) keyed the early surge with multiple points, while the Bishops capitalized on possessions and controlled tempo throughout the quarter. Oberlin created a few quality chances, including shots off the pipe, but could not solve junior goalkeeper Jason Mosher (Hilton, NY/Hilton) early.
- The Bishops extended their advantage in the second, adding two more goals to take a 7-1 lead into halftime. Junior Dean Shacklett (Philadelphia, PA/Germantown Academy) and junior Henry Ross (Snoqualmie, WA/Mount Si) contributed to the scoring, including a man-up goal, as Ohio Wesleyan continued to pressure offensively. Oberlin broke through late in the half on a goal by junior Andrew Rosa (Weehawken, NJ/The Pennington School) but struggled with turnovers and clearing against an aggressive Ohio Wesleyan.
- Oberlin showed life out of the break, scoring three times in the third period, led by senior Solomon Brennan (Montclair, NJ/Montclair), who accounted for all three scores during the run. The Yeomen generated momentum with improved faceoff play and offensive pressure, cutting into the deficit. However, Ohio Wesleyan answered with a key goal from senior Garrett Smith (Fishers, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) and held an 8-4 lead heading into the fourth.
- Ohio Wesleyan pulled away in the final frame, outscoring Oberlin 4-0 to secure the 12-4 victory. Goals from Ross, junior Wade Beckstrom (Devon, PA/Conestoga), Smith and senior Will Siegenthaler (Elmhurst, IL/York), highlighted a balanced attack, while the defense and Mosher shut the door. Despite continued shot opportunities, Oberlin was unable to convert as the Bishops closed the game strong on both ends.
