Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Henry Hinkle, Ohio Wesleyan
Ohio Wesleyan senior guard
Henry Hinkle (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty) helped propel the Battling Bishops to a 2-1 week with wins over La Roche (70-63) and Bates (89-78) and a tough 82-74 loss to Transylvania. Against the Redhawks, the senior recorded a game-high 33 points, tying his career best, after going 11-for-18 from the floor and 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Hinkle added eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the seven-point win. In OWU’s loss to the Pioneers, the guard tallied a team-high 17 points, shooting 7-for-8, and six assists. In the win over the Bobcats, Hinkle dished out another six assists to go along with 20 points and four rebounds. On the week, Hinkle averaged 23.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Mackenzie Riccitelli
Wooster first-year
Mackenzie Riccitelli (Boardman, OH/Boardman) led the Fighting Scots to their first road win since the 2019-20 season, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the 71-64 victory over Franciscan University of Steubenville. In the win, she also added four assists and a game-high four steals, while shooting 6-of-15 from the floor with a 9-of-12 mark from the foul line.
Football Offensive Athlete of the Week – Caden Whitehead, DePauw
DePauw junior
Caden Whitehead (Indianapolis, IN/Park Tudor) helped lead the Tigers to a 42-21 win over Wabash in the Monon Bell game on Saturday. The junior rushed for a career-high 199 yards on 27 carries and two touchdowns. The 199 rushing yards were a DePauw Monon Bell record, eclipsing the mark of 190 set by
Bart Simpson in 1973. With the win, the Tigers earned their fourth-consecutive NCAC football crown and the league’s automatic-qualifying bid to the national tournament.
Football Defensive Athlete of the Week – Hunter Green, Oberlin
Oberlin junior
Hunter Green (Odenton, MD/Arundel) and his defensive efforts helped guide the Yeomen to a 20-17 victory over Hiram on Saturday, marking the program’s first of the season. The junior collected a season-high 13 total tackles, including eight solo stops and five tackle assists. Green recorded 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for a loss of 23 yards, both season highs. The Odenton, Maryland native also forced a fumble and registered three quarterback hurries in the win.
Men's Swim & Dive Athlete of the Week – Jack Hill, Denison
Denison sophomore
Jack Hill (Leighton Buzzard, UK/Cedars Upper) was a part of three NCAA Division III ‘B’ cut performances in the Big Red’s 152-77 win over Oberlin on Saturday.
The sophomore finished first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.70, marking the third-best time in Division III this season. In the 400 freestyle relay, Hill was the leadoff leg that finished first in 3:00.16 and registers as the fourth-fastest time in the national rankings. Hill was also member of the winning 200 free relay that touched the wall in 1:22.53.
Women's Swim & Dive Athlete of the Week – Jassy Park, Denison
Denison sophomore
Jassy Park (Lakeway, TX/Hyde Park) broke the Big Red’s oldest program record, while turning in three NCAA Division III ‘B’ cuts during Saturday’s 158-74 win over Oberlin. The sophomore was the leadoff leg of Denison’s winning 200 medley relay that finished in 1:42.92, which is the second-best time in Division III this season. Park was also a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay that touched in 1:35.06. Individually, she won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:08.47 and bested the competition in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.76, which broke
Olivia Zaleski’s mark of 54.80 that topped Denison's varsity record book since 2009.
NCAC Milestones & Records (Nov. 11-17)
Denison, Football – First-year quarter
Tyler Green (Concord, NC/Cannon) finished his collegiate debut season with 2,233 passing yards and 23 total touchdowns with just six interceptions in 10 games.
Denison, Women’s Basketball – Senior
Abigail Westmeyer (Toledo, OH/Ottawa Hills) earned Most Valuable Player honors at the inaugural Sara Lee Classic after averaging 12.5 points, 2.5 assists, and eight rebounds over two games.
Hiram, Women’s Basketball – Graduate student
Anastasia Lawler (Hudson, OH/Hudson) set a new program record after sinking nine three-point shots in Hiram’s 104-28 win over SUNY Delhi on Sunday. In the win, she also posted career-highs in points (32) and steals (7) to go along with a career-high tying eight assists.
Oberlin, Men’s Basketball – Senior
Yuuki Okubo (Los Angeles, CA/Crossroads) became Oberlin’s all-time assist leader after dishing out seven in the Yeomen’s 79-69 win over Allegheny on Wednesday. After producing 16 assists over two games last week, the senior now has 402 career assists, surpassing
Christian Fioretti’s 390 (2016-20).
Wittenberg, Men’s Basketball – Senior
Trey Killens (Cincinnati, OH/Mason) surpassed 1,000 career points after posting 26 points in a 76-68 win over Muskingum on Wednesday.
Wittenberg, Football – In just his fifth starting assignment, first-year quarterback
Jayden “JJ” Miller (Amelia, OH/Williamsburg) surpassed 1,000 yards passing for the season, posting career-highs with 369 yards and four touchdowns in the Tigers 48-27 win over Wooster on Saturday.
Wooster, Men’s Basketball – Junior
Jaiden Cox-Holloway (Cleveland, OH/Richmond Heights) scored a career-high 21 points in Sunday's 88-77 win at Otterbein University.
Wooster, Football – Senior
Brazos Gadler (Houston, TX/Cypress Creek) tied the program's single-game record with four receiving touchdowns in Saturday's game against Wittenberg.
