DePauw Claims 2024 NCAC Women’s Cross Country Crown

TERRE HAUTE, IN -- DePauw captured the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship on Sunday, Nov. 3, in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Tigers finished with a total of 26 points to claim their first NCAC championship crown.

Wittenberg finished second in the team standings with 49 points, while Ohio Wesleyan (71), Oberlin (120) and Denison (147) rounded out the top five. Kenyon (173) took sixth place, followed by Wooster (174) in seventh and Hiram (217) in eighth.

After a ninth-place finish a season ago, DePauw senior Lily Monnett (Cloverdale, IN/Cloverdale) claimed the 2004 NCAC Women's Runner of the Year honor after she posted a winning 6K time of 22:05.85 over the championship course. This is Monnett's third all-conference honor after she collected second-team laurels in both 2023 and 2022.
 
DePauw classmate Sophie Porter (Westfield, IN/Westfield) finished second with a time of 22:12.25 for her fourth All-NCAC certificate after earning first-team honors in 2023 along with second-team laurels in both 2022 and 2021. Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Zoe Ward (Columbus, OH/Worthington Christian) placed third, crossing the line in 22:14.26, which elevated her to the first team after collecting second-team honors a season ago. Wittenberg senior Megan Keys (Dublin, OH/Dublin Jerome) finished in fourth in a time of 22:28.03, making her a three-time All-NCAC honoree after capturing first-team recognition in 2023 and third-team accolades in 2022. Wittenberg sophomore Maddi Clark Mentor, OH/Mentor) made her All-NCAC debut with a fifth-place finish in a time of 22:32.04. DePauw senior Brynn Urban (Fishers, IN/Fishers) placed sixth in a time of 22:41.07 to earn a third-straight All-NCAC certificate after claiming third-team honors in 2023 and second-team accolades in 2022. Rounding out the first team was Wittenberg junior Emma Hawk (Marion, OH/River Valley), who took seventh place in 22:55.55 to repeat as a top-team honoree from 2023 after also collecting second-team laurels in 2022.  

Denison first-year Jane McNamara (Western Springs, IL/Nazareth Academy) posted the top individual finish by a student-athlete in their first year of collegiate competition to earn the 2024 NCAC Women's Newcomer of the Year honor after finishing in 18th place (23:45.30).

DePauw claimed the 2024 Coaching Staff of the Year honors, the first women’s coaching award in program history. The Tigers are led by Head Coach Kori Stoffregen and Volunteer Assistant Mackenzie Anders.
