Baseball Player of the Week – Eric Colaco, Denison
Denison junior
Eric Colaco (Richfield, OH/Revere) and the Big Red went 4-0 this week with wins over Oberlin (14-4,12-2) and Waynesburg (9-2, 8-1). Colaco batted .533 (8-for-15) on the week with 10 runs, seven RBI, four stolen bases, four walks, three doubles, one triple and one home run. He totaled three doubles in the Big Red's doubleheader sweep against Oberlin on Tuesday as the Big Red clinched a share of the NCAC Championship. Colaco now sits atop NCAA Division III with 23 doubles this season. Against Waynesburg, the junior recorded two hits and two runs in each game.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Austin Luther, Wittenberg
Wittenberg senior
Austin Luther (Hughesville, MD/St. Mary's Ryken) pitched 8.2 scoreless innings and allowed just six hits and one walk while tallying nine strikeouts in a 3-0 win at Kenyon on Saturday. With the win, Wittenberg clinched a share of the NCAC Championship and the No. 1 seed in the NCAC Tournament. This marks the first NCAC title in program history for Wittenberg.
Softball Player of the Week – Annabelle Calderon, Denison
Denison junior
Annabelle Calderon (Perris, CA/Orange Vista) helped the Big Red secure the No. 2-seed for the NCAC Softball Tournament as her performances guided the team to a 4-0 week with wins over Wittenberg (3-2, 11-1) and DePauw (5-2, 4-3). On the week, the junior batted 5-for-9 (.556) with four runs, RBI, and extra bases while also being walked and hit by a pitch twice. In game one against Wittenberg, Calderon hit 2-for-3 (.667) which included a two-run homer to make her Denison's single-season home run leader (11). She also helped Denison secure the program's first sweep over DePauw as she contributed one run and one RBI in a 4-3 game-two victory.
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Brooke Surbaugh, Denison
Denison sophomore
Brooke Surbaugh (San Bruno, CA/St. Ignatius) propelled a Big Red defense that allowed Denison to secure the No. 2-seed for the NCAC Softball Tournament as she was 2-0 on the week with a 2.47 earned run average in 11.1 innings pitched. In a 3-2 game-one win at Wittenberg on Wednesday, Surbaugh finished with a line of six innings pitched, allowing three hits, two runs and two walks. She pitched three straight 1-2-3 innings in the third, fourth and fifth innings and set down 13 consecutive batters before allowing the first hit of the game for Wittenberg with one out in the bottom of the sixth. Surbaugh then handed DePauw its first NCAC loss of the season on Saturday with a 5-2 win in game one that saw her finish with a line of 5.1 innings pitched, allowing three hits, two runs and five walks.

McKenna Tuttle (Richmond, KY/Model Laboratory School) went 4-for-4, tying the Bishop single-game record for hits, while junior
Avery Panozzo (Denver, CO/Mullen) also rewrote the Ohio Wesleyan record book by recording six putouts in the contest, breaking the mark of five putouts by an outfielder set by
Kristin Kovach on March 20, 2007, against Muskingum and equaled by
Lilly Gresh against Heidelberg on April 21, 2015 … First-year
Chameron Vanden Eynden (Goshen, OH/Goshen) went 4-for-4 against Otterbein in game two, tying the Bishop single-game record for hits.
Ohio Wesleyan, Women's Lacrosse - Senior attacker
Nicole Klabus (Delaware, OH/Hayes) scored five goals against Kenyon to raise her career total to 160 to break the Ohio Wesleyan record of 159 set by
Sloane Baumgartner from 2017-20. Klabus' five goals also raised her career points total to 199, ranking fourth on the Ohio Wesleyan list … Sophomore midfielder
Abbie Grogan (Louisville, KY/Kentucky Country Day) collected eight draw controls to raise her season total to 94, breaking the record of 92 set by
Jenn Douglas in 2019.
Ohio Wesleyan, Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Junior
Trey Theobald (Archbold, OH/Archbold) set a school record in the javelin with a throw of 60.89 meters at the NCAC Championships, breaking the school record of 59.12 meters he set last week.
Wooster, Men's Golf – The Fighting Scots shot a 283 in the final round of the NCAC Championships for the team's best score since at least 1985.
Wooster, Women's Golf – The Scots finished the year with a 321.5 average, the program record by 14 strokes … Senior
Melissa Burtscher (Aurora, CO/Vista PEAK Preparatory) broke the single season scoring record with a 79.1 average and is the first in program history with a sub-80 average for the year … Senior
Grace Lindgren (Cheboygan, MI/Cheboygan) graduates as the program's all-time scoring leader at 82.5 strokes per round.
Wooster, Softball - Senior
Stephanie Griffin-Sanchez (Grafton, OH/Elyria Catholic) tied the program's all-time record with 166 hits.
Wooster, Outdoor Track & Field - Sophomore
Evie Sanford (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) broke the program shot put record with a toss of 12.51 meters at the NCAC Championships … Senior
Athena Tharenos (St. Louis, MO/Mary Institute & St. Louis Country Day School) broke the program record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:58.09.
