HIRAM, OH – Former Hiram student-athlete, Jamal Hill, will return to the spotlight beginning on Thursday, when the swimming events for the 2024 Paralympic Games officially begin in Paris.

Overall, the Paralympic Games – which is one of the largest international competitions featuring athletes with disabilities – will have 4,000+ athletes from across the globe competing in 22 different sports. The 2024 Paralympics will also make history as the first summer Paralympics to ever be held in France since the international event began in 1960.

Hill swam for the Terriers in each of his three seasons from 2013 to 2016, with the 2015-16 marking his best season across four different events: 50 Freestyle, 50 Fly, 100 Freestyle and 100 Fly.

Hill then moved to Southern California, where he trained at the University of Southern California as part of the Trojan Elite Swim Team, according to his official website. Throughout his training, Hill was also battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a condition that impacts the nerves in your feet, legs, hands and arms.

Since then, the Inglewood, CA native has flourished as a national champion, Paralympic medalist, author and a motivational figure for other athletes with disabilities and all those fighting Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Further details on the achievements and his experiences below can also be found on his website and the Team USA website:
