Denison Advances into NCAA Baseball Regional Final 5/17/2025 6:39:53 PM Share: GRANVILLE, OH - Denison collected a 10-4 victory over Keystone in Game 4 of the 2025 NCAA Division III Baseball Regional. The undefeated Big Red advance into the Regional Championship and will play on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. against the winner of the elimination game between Penn State Behrend and Keystone. Game 4: Denison 10, Keystone 4 Denison baseball jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, powering past Keystone behind a balanced offensive attack and timely pitching. The Big Red broke through in the second inning with a four-run surge. Senior Jake Blozy (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) got the scoring started with a two-run homer to right field, scoring junior Cade Nowik (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest). Shortly after, first-year Eron Vega (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) added an RBI single to center, and sophomore Jack Lutte (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to bring in sophomore Andrew Fazio (Minneapolis, MN/Southwest Minneapolis), giving Denison a 4-0 lead. In the fourth, Vega continued to contribute, driving in another run on a fielder’s choice. An inning later, junior Erik Sundgren (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) drove home senior Eric Colaco (Richfield, OH/Revere) with a sharp single to left, extending Denison’s lead to 6-0. Keystone mounted a brief comeback in the sixth, scoring four runs on a grand slam, but Denison quickly regained momentum. In the seventh, the Big Red responded with a three-run frame: Sundgren ripped an RBI double, Blozy added a run-scoring groundout, and junior Max Fishbein (Atlanta, GA/Druid Hills) delivered an RBI double to restore a comfortable 9-4 cushion. Lutte added the finishing touch in the eighth with a solo home run to right, sealing a 10-4 victory. Denison’s offense was steady and opportunistic, with contributions up and down the lineup. Blozy, Lutte, Sundgren and Vega each notched multiple RBI, while Blozy and Lutte provided the power with home runs. The Big Red defense and pitching did the rest, holding Keystone scoreless outside of the sixth inning to secure the win. Sophomore Peter Lemke (Geneva, IL/St. Francis) allowed just one earned run over six innings while striking out four. Junior Will Rettig (Perrysburg, OH/Perrysburg) closed out the final three frames with five strikeouts and no walks, sealing the win with a dominant relief effort.
