Kenyon, Wittenberg Men's Golf Advance to Third Round of NCAA Tourney 5/21/2025 7:44:39 PM Share: PENFIELD, NY– Kenyon shot a second-round score of 300 (+12) while Wittenberg finished the second-round with a score of 302 (+14) at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York. Combined with an opening round of 297 (+9), the Owls currently sit in a tie for second place with a 36-hole score of 597 and the Tigers sit in a tie for 13th with a score of 607 after posting a score of 305 (+17) on day one. Both teams made the cut to advance to the third round. The national championship is being held on two courses, the par-72 6,558-yard course at the Midvale Country Club and the par-72 6,770-yard course at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club. Both NCAC teams opened play at the Midvale Country Club and then traversed the Cobblestone Creek Country Club on day two. Illinois Wesleyan continues to lead after day two after posting a 36-hole score of 595 (+19), while Kenyon and Huntingdon are two strokes back with a 597’s (+21), Carnegie Mellon follows in fourth with a 598 (+22) and Aurora is in fifth after carding a 600 (+24) after the second round. Kenyon’s Jonathan Oakes (Dobbs Ferry, NY/US Performance Academy) continues to lead the Owls and all NCAC participants after shooting a 74 (+2) in the second round of competition for a two-day score of 146 (72-74). Jaiden Koonar (Alberta, Canada/Webber Academy) owns a 149 (75-74), while Oliver McGovern (Greenwich, CT/Fordham Prep) holds a 150 (74-76), and Adrian Jordan (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrenceville School) (76-80) and Armand Ouellette (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) (80-76) each totaled a 156. After round two, Wittenberg was led by Mitch Bolte (Newark, OH/Newark), who owns a 147 (73-74), while Jacob Yarbrough (Dublin, OH/Jerome) has a 149 (76-73), Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) shot a 153 (76-77), Mark Sulek (Delaware, OH/Hayes) holds a 162 (80-82) and Josh Wright (Wadsworth, OH/Akron Hoban) has a 169 (91-78). Round three will be played on the Midvale Country Club course with both Kenyon and Wittenberg starting at 10:39 a.m. The team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes of play or the conclusion of the last fully completed round. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams. In the team competition, the low four scores from each team for each day will count in the team's total score.
