OWU's Miller Named Jostens Trophy Finalist

SALEM, VA - Ohio Wesleyan junior forward Macy Miller (Marysville, OH/Milford Center Fairbanks) has been named one of 11 women’s finalists for the Jostens Trophy, announced Thursday, March 12th, by the Rotary Club of Salem, Virginia.

On the court, Miller secured the 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Year honors as well as All-NCAC First Team nods while leading the Battling Bishops to a 21-6 overall record, an 11-3 mark in conference play, and the program’s fourth-straight NCAA tournament appearance with hosting rights. The Battling Bishops ended their season with a close second-round loss to a high-powered WashU squad. Miller started 24 of her 25 games played and currently leads the NCAC in rebounding with 11.7 per game and sits in second in scoring with 16.2 per game and blocks with 1.7 per game. Miller is also tied for third in steals (2.3/per game) and is fourth in field goal percentage (.503).

Off the court, Miller is an Exercise Science major who has earned Dean’s List recognition in each of her five semesters at Ohio Wesleyan and was named to the 2024-25 NCAC Dr. Gordon Collins Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She has served as a weekly youth mentor through OWU’s partnership with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Delaware County for three years.

The NCAC has had three previous winners emerge from the conference, including Nate Axelrod (2018) of Ohio Wesleyan, Sydney Kopp (2020) of DePauw, and Jack Davidson (2022) of Wabash. Most recently, Ohio Wesleyan’s Kasey Schipfer was named a finalist in 2024.

The Jostens Trophy is a national award created by the Rotary Club of Salem to honor the most outstanding men's and women's NCAA Division III basketball players of the year. The award considers three vital parts: basketball ability, academic prowess, and community service. The trophy models the Rotary International motto of "Service Above Self" by recognizing those who truly fit the ideal of the well-rounded NCAA Division III student-athlete. This season marks the 28th presentation of the awards, with the inaugural trophies bestowed in 1998.

The Rotary Club of Salem is responsible for the initial review of nominations and narrowed the collection of candidates over the past two weeks. The Club’s Jostens Trophy Committee employs a numerical rating system to ensure an objective process through the first round of vetting.

A selection committee of 30 individuals from various associations with Division III men's and women's basketball associations will vote among the finalists. The Jostens Trophy will be presented the week after the NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball championships.

Fans can also cast their vote for Miller through Thursday, March 19, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Submit your vote by clicking HERE.
