Kenyon Women’s Tennis Opens NCAA Tournament with Rose-Hulman

The No. 14-ranked Kenyon Owls won their 19th NCAC Tournament to earn a berth into the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, which are set to begin with first-third round matchups this weekend, Thursday-Saturday, May 7-9. All rounds are single elimination.

Kenyon (18-5) will travel to Washington University in St. Louis and will take on Rose-Hulman on Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m.

The Owls will make their fourth consecutive and 26th overall appearance in the national tournament, after winning the NCAC's automatic bid with a 5-0 victory over No. 21 Denison in the conference tournament final. Kenyon holds a 35-23 (.603) record in NCAA play; the Owls have posted top-four finishes 10 times and won the national championship in 1993, '95, and '97.

Hanover punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament with a 4-1 win over Transylvania in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament Championship match. The Fightin' Engineers are making their third NCAA appearance and have a 0-2 tournament record. This would mark the first time Kenyon and Rose-Hulman have met.

The University of the South and the City of Chattanooga will host the team championships finals, which will be held May 19-22 at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Student-athletes selected to the individual championships will be announced on Wednesday, May 6.

The championship provides for a 44-team tournament. Automatic qualification (AQ) is granted to 35 conference champions. The remaining nine teams will be selected from true independents, schools from conferences that do not have an automatic bid for their champions, and teams in conferences with an automatic bid that did not win their conferences' AQ (At-Large). The teams are geographically paired whenever possible.
