GRANVILLE, OH/CHICAGO, IL - No. 4 ranked Denison collected a 4-0 second-round victory over No. 25 Carthage, while No. 10 Kenyon fell 4-1 to No. 1 UChicago in the third round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
The win advances Denison into the third round. The Big Red will take on the winner of the second-round matchup between WashU and Kalamazoo on Sunday, May 10, at 12:00 p.m. The team championship will take place May 19-22, at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee; hosted by University of the South and Chattanooga, TN.
Although the season came to a close for the Kenyon team, the Owls’ will have student-athletes competing in the individual championships on May 23-26 in Tennessee. Kenyon junior

Maximo Llamas Castellanos (Guadalupe, Mexico/Prepa Tec Valle Alto) were invited to participate in the Singles Championship, while Llamas Castellanos and sophomore
Juozas Cioladis (Kildare, Ireland/McCallie School) were invited to the Doubles Championship.
Granville, OH Second Round - Denison 4, Carthage 0
- Denison took a 1-0 lead over Carthage after doubles with wins at the No. 1 and 2 flights. Seniors Ethan Green (Salt Lake City, UT/Skyline) and Kael Shah (Nairobi, Kenya/ES American School Barcelona (Spain)) earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 and first-year Wesley Huang (Pasadena, CA/Laurel Spring School) and Jacob Patterson (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) collected the second flight win with a 6-1 score.
- In singles, Shah collected the Big Red’s first point with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Senior Anthony Payiavlas (Warren, OH/Harding) followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 before Patterson clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 3 flight.
Chicago, IL Third Round - UChicago 4, Kenyon 1
- UChicago jumped out to a 1-0 lead after collecting two wins at the top two flights for the one-point advantage heading into singles play.
- In singles, Chicago took a 2-0 lead after winning the No. 1 flight, while Kenyon’s Llamas Castellanos earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 to give the Owls their only point. The Maroons then collected the No. 3 and 5 flights to earn the 4-1 victory.
