NORTHBROOK, IL – John Carroll senior offensive lineman Troy Mrukowski (Hometown, State/John Carroll) has been named to the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, honoring college football student-athletes for exceptional commitment to community service and leadership both on and off the field.
 
Mrukowski is one of 11 players selected from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II, III, and NAIA nationwide. He becomes the fourth John Carroll student-athlete to earn the honor, following Owen Schuckert, who represented the Blue Streaks on the 2025 team, and the second Blue Streak offensive lineman to be recognized, joining Matt Wrather, who earned the honor in 2024.
 
On campus, Mrukowski spent three years as a Jesuit Day of Service Core team member and served as an NMDP student ambassador, while also volunteering with Build The Bridge and Carroll Ballers. Off campus, he became a volunteer coach for Olentangy Liberty High School football last summer and currently volunteers with Gilmour Academy's program. He has also supported Tim Tebow's Night to Shine and the Quinshon Judkins Youth Football Camp.

"To have a member on the AFCA Good Works Team three years in a row is a great honor for our program. This speaks to our Jesuit identity and who we are as a University. Service plays a big part in our program, as we are here to serve the community in as many ways as possible."

This place has given me so much; this place has helped develop my faith, taught me what it looks like to be a man and how to put others before myself. Being able to represent such an amazing place is so humbling."

I would also like to thank my parents for instilling the morals of my life to me at a young age," Mrukowski added. The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® was established in 1992 by the College Football Association to recognize college football players and student support staff who make outstanding contributions off the field. The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) took over the program in 1997 and continues to honor student-athletes who go above and beyond to serve their communities. Allstate Insurance Company became the presenting sponsor in 2008. This year's honorees contributed more than 12,000 hours of volunteer service and raised more than $100,000 for charitable causes.
